While the latest result of “World’s Star Nail Artist” wasn’t the one she was hoping for, the worldwide contest did shine a light on the limitless talent of Trail nail artist Sarah Fontaine.
Fontaine was the sole North American to make it to Top 8 in Scratch Magazine’s competition, based in the United Kingdom.
While she didn’t advance as a finalist, her nail creations were nothing short of breathtaking.
“It’s not the news I wanted to hear but maybe it’s for the best,” Fontaine posted to her Instagram account, Garnish_NailArt, on June 16. “I learned a lot during the competition, it forced me to try things I have never attempted. I accomplished a lot more than I thought possible.”
Fontaine, owner of Garnish Nail Art in Trail, has been in the business for 10 years.
“Here’s to moving forward and continuing to learn … but also letting my arm rest,” she shared. “I’ve been suffering with a numb arm due to a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder. Too many hours sitting at my nail desk, I guess.”
