Eurostar has teamed up with Kings-Cross based brewery Two Tribes to launch an exclusive pale ale for its passengers.
The NOMAD beer, named in honour of those travelling to seek new adventures across Eurostar’s network, will be available to customers on all routes in Business Premier and Standard Premier, as well as in the Business Premier lounge at London St Pancras and for purchase at the onboard Café Metropole.
The 4.5 per cent ABV pale ale has been brewed using British, Belgian and German malts, with tasting notes including a “smooth caramel and toffee backbone” complimented with “hoppy hints of citrus fruits such as grapefruit and orange peel”.
Brewed especially for Eurostar, the design of the can also showcases the trainset along with famous landmarks across the rail operator’s network. These include London St Pancras’ famous clock tower, the Atomium in Brussels, tulips and bicycles in Amsterdam, and Rodin’s The Thinker statue in Paris.
The beer has also been brewed with sustainability in mind, with all cans and packaging 100 per cent recyclable and brewery waste collected by UK-based company First Mile to generate green energy, among other eco credentials.
Andrew Robinson, head of Onboard Services, says:
“It was very exciting to collaborate with Two Tribes to develop and design the most sustainable and locally sourced pale ale exclusively for our customers.
“We are very proud of NOMAD by Eurostar with its amazing European flavours that can be slowly enjoyed onboard alongside the array of other sustainable foods, drinks and snacks we offer on all our classes of service.”
Justin Deighton, founder of Two Tribes, added:
“We’ve embarked on an incredible journey with Eurostar over the past half-year, and we are thrilled to further strengthen our partnership by brewing an exclusive pale ale using the finest British and European ingredients.
“Two Tribes and Eurostar share the belief that travel holds the key to creative discovery and good times. It is this shared ethos that has fuelled our collaboration, resulting in a truly exceptional beer crafted exclusively for Eurostar’s discerning onboard customers.”
