The third season of a comedy series and an Academy Award-nominated HBO documentary short are finally making their way to streaming as part of the Max schedule for June 12-18.
On Thursday, June 15, the third run of Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens will head to Max. Starring comedian Awkwafina, the series is a fictionalized version of the actress’ life. Season 3 premiered on Comedy Central earlier this year and wrapped up on June 7. Lori Tan Chinn and BD Wong also star.
Wednesday, June 14, the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streamer will also add How Do You Measure a Year? to its content. Directed, produced, and edited by Jay Rosenblatt, the documentary focuses on the special relationship between the author and his daughter, Ella.
“For 17 years, filmmaker Jay Rosenblatt filmed his daughter Ella on her birthday in the same spot, asking her the same questions. In just 29 minutes, we watch her grow from a toddler to a young woman with all the beautiful and sometimes awkward stages in between. Each phase is captured fleetingly but makes an indelible mark. Her responses to her father’s questions are just a backdrop for a deeper story of parental love, acceptance, and ultimately, independence.”
