Wayte Travel Management has acquired fellow UK-based TMC Quintessentially Corporate Travel Management (QCTM).

The deal sees Wayte purchase QCTM’s parent company CJ Leigh Travel in a move that will increase Wayte’s existing operations by more than 50 per cent and give it a “much stronger presence” in London.

Wayte was ranked as the 26th largest TMC in the UK last year, while QCTM was listed in 30th place.

The transaction, which was completed on Monday (5 June), sees all 17 staff from QCTM being retained as part of the enlarged Wayte Travel operation. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Chris Morris, Wayte’s managing director, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Suzie Harris and her excellent team at QCTM to the Wayte Travel family.

“Both businesses are known for their exceptional service to corporate customers with high client retention rates. We look forward to developing the combined businesses in the fast-changing environment of corporate travel management.”

Harris, who is managing director of QCTM, added: “I’m incredibly excited to join Chris and his team at Wayte Travel Management.

“The complementary nature of both businesses makes this a natural fit and I look forward to supporting continued growth, delivering opportunities to our staff, and enhancing our service offering to our corporate clients.”

Wayte Travel, which was first established in 1903, has offices in Stoke-on-Trent, London and Jersey. The company has been specialising in business travel since 1980.

QCTM was set up in 1971 and has been operating as the specialist corporate division of concierge service Quintessentially.

Following the acquisition, the QCTM team will continue operating as normal for a “short period of time” before rebranding under the Wayte Travel Management name.
