Ritter Communications of Jonesboro has expanded its fiber internet services to Union City, Tennessee, a town of about 11,000 in the northwest corner of the state.
Ritter said the $1.5 million expansion, which was recently completed, makes the company the first to bring XGS-PON computer networking technology to the area. The technology uses fiber connectivity to power broadband solutions and telecom services with speeds up to 100 gigabits per second.
“The services Ritter Communications is bringing to Union City will help our community keep and grow existing businesses and attract new enterprises,” Lindsay Frilling, CEO of the Obion County Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release. “We’re grateful for Ritter Communications investment in our community and future. We expect great things to come because of their investment and support.”
Ritter now serves 115 communities across four states in the Mid-South.
