Of course there used to be a gas station there. The DJC first reported on redevelopment plans at 2240 Eastlake Ave. E. in early 2022. GranCorp Holdings is now planning the six-story, 71-unit Sola apartments, but the site has been in play since 2018 or so. Other would-be developers were evidently deterred by the property’s history as a Shell station from 1950 to 1985.
